The Curriculum

A meticulously structured roadmap — fundamentals to release-ready, step by step.

01 DAW Setup & Signal Flow
Week 1–2

Get your studio dialled in from day one. We'll walk through DAW configuration, audio interface routing, and the signal chain from input to monitor so every session starts on solid ground.

  • Project templates, sample rate, and buffer settings
  • Gain staging and headroom that holds up at every stage
  • Bus structure, sends, and clean monitoring
  • File management and a workflow you can repeat
02 Drums, Rhythm & Groove
Week 2–3

Build drums that move people. From kit selection to swing, velocity, and layering — learn how to program rhythms that feel alive instead of mechanical.

  • Sample selection, layering, and drum bus processing
  • Groove, swing, and humanisation techniques
  • Genre-specific patterns and how the pros vary them
  • Locking the low end between kick and bass
03 Synthesis & Sound Design
Week 3–5

Stop relying on presets. Learn how synthesis actually works so you can design exactly the sound in your head — leads, basses, pads, and signature textures.

  • Subtractive, FM, and wavetable fundamentals
  • Designing basses, leads, pads, and FX from scratch
  • Modulation, envelopes, and movement
  • Resampling and building your own preset library
04 Arrangement & Song Structure
Week 5–6

Turn loops into songs. We cover the structural moves that hold a listener's attention — intros, drops, breakdowns, and the transitions in between.

  • Song-form templates that work across genres
  • Tension, release, and dynamic contrast
  • Transitions, risers, impacts, and FX placement
  • Editing a finished arrangement for length and pacing
05 Mixing Fundamentals
Week 7–8

The skills that separate amateur from professional. Learn how to balance, EQ, compress, and place every element so your mix translates on any system.

  • Level balance, panning, and stereo width
  • EQ — surgical cuts and musical shaping
  • Compression: glue, control, and character
  • Reference mixing and translation checks
06 Advanced FX & Processing
Week 8–9

Once the fundamentals are solid, FX are where your sound gets its signature. We dive into reverb, delay, sidechain, and modulation as creative tools — not just polish.

  • Reverbs and delays that sit in the mix
  • Sidechain compression for groove and space
  • Saturation, distortion, and harmonic colour
  • Parallel processing and creative bussing
07 Mastering for Streaming
Week 10

Prepare your music to compete on Spotify, Apple Music, and beyond. Understand loudness targets, true-peak limits, and the small details that make a master sound finished.

  • Loudness, LUFS, and true-peak for streaming platforms
  • Mastering chain: EQ, multiband, limiter
  • Stereo enhancement and final polish
  • Exporting, metadata, and platform-ready delivery
08 Artist Identity & Release Strategy
Week 11–12

Great music isn't enough on its own. Build the brand, story, and release plan that gets your finished track in front of the right ears.

  • Defining your artist identity and visual world
  • Release planning: timelines, rollouts, and assets
  • Distribution, playlist pitching, and PR basics
  • Building an audience that actually shows up

Common Questions

FAQ

Still have questions? Reach out directly and we'll get back to you fast.

hello@musicaccelerator.com →
Do I need experience to enroll? +
No prior production experience is required for our foundational programs. We do have advanced tracks for those with existing experience. A brief intake call helps us place you in the right program.
What DAW do I need? +
We primarily teach in Ableton Live and Logic Pro, but the principles apply to any modern DAW. We can accommodate FL Studio, Reaper, and others. A brief onboarding conversation will help us tailor to your setup.
How much time do I need each week? +
We recommend 8–12 hours per week for best results. The program is structured to be intensive but flexible — most content is async with live sessions scheduled around your timezone.
Will I actually release music at the end? +
That's the goal and our guarantee. You'll work on a real track throughout the program, receiving direct feedback from instructors. By week 12 you'll have a release-ready master and a strategy for getting it out.
What genres do you cover? +
Our instructors specialize in electronic music, darkwave, EBM, indie, and alternative — but the production principles are genre-agnostic. We've helped students in hip-hop, ambient, pop, and everything in between.
What's included in the tuition? +
All video modules, live group sessions, 1-on-1 feedback on your tracks, access to our private community, template packs, plugin recommendations, and a post-program support period.
